Go Ahead & Like It by Jacqueline Suskin

This book...
When I first considered this book I tried to gather as much information about it as possible before selecting it. I thought I'd try it because, it gave the idea that it was going to give me space to write lists and be creative with my own mind but, it was merely a memoir of another person's life.
While the concept is nice and the pictures are decent; I felt the book was too busy. There was just too much to look at and for my overwhelmed head it was just not making me happy.
If you like busyness in your books and like to read about what other people like then this book would be for you. If you are thinking this book is going to give you inspiration, it might, but it won't give you any area to write your own inspiration Unless you decide to write your lists or ideas next to the Author's.
Overall I'm disappointed in this book and for the price of $16.99, I'm hoping I can ward off anyone who might be wanting to purchase it. Check it out from your library and see for yourself (when it comes out that is)
I give this book 1 smiley, just for creativity.

coolest snack mom

Okay so I'm not a fan of boring snacks for my kindergarteners class. Usually I try to do a trail mix with a nice mix of salty and sweet but, for this month we went the popcorn route because, quite frankly, I was tired of trail mix and i don't even eat it.
I also try to have something substantial that will fill them up. They have snack around 1030, then lunch around 1230, then nothing till after 3 and the lunches we all know that are provided courtesy of Michelle Obama's lets {starve} the children program, aren't substantial.
Anyway, enough about that.... tomorrow's snack is home made popcorn, white chocolate drizzle, and spring colored m&m's. It's supposed to be "low sugared " snacks and i hope this is low enough. Regardless though he's happy with it and can't stop eating the extra so I must have done good right?
Till next time.....

strep

It seems like ever since we moved here we've been sick, non-stop. This time around we have strep. There's a lot I need to get done but, alas I don't feel like doing anything. Hopefully all this sickness will be over soon!

Be the Message Devotional by Kerry and Chris Shook

I am usually all about devotionals. I pick ones that have daily relations to what i'm going through or speak to me. This book was all of that but, for some reason I found it hard to get through. I don't know if it's cause my faith is wavering and the message was real or if it was the layout of the text. The book itself is rather small, so the text is small, and they try to fit a lot of words onto a page so you get the full context of what points they're trying to show the reader.
This book also has a writing area for you to sit and reflect. I liked that part the most. I haven't filled mine in yet because, I read it quickly to get this review done.
This is definitely one of those kind of devotionals that i'm going to have to do on the day that corresponds with the day I'm doing it on. Ex. day 1 on the first day, day 2 on the second day, day 3 on the third day, etc.
It is for sure not one of those those type of books that you have to read daily, to get the full affect of what's being written, rather than rushing through it.
I have high hopes for this book; I'm sure it will serve its purpose and speak to me the way God wants it to speak to me, if I follow it the way it's supposed to be followed.
I give this book 3 out of 5 smiley faces because of the size of the book itself, the font, and the texture of the paging.
